Hey all, roach here.

If you're reading this, I have an idea for you. a Project, actually. a while back, I decided to see if I could draw one thing a day, every day, for a year. the resulting insanity was dubbed "ChibiiDoodle". take a stroll through my gallery, and you'll find plenty of examples of it's madness.

well, I'm doing it again. and this time, I don't expect to be alone.

here's the Project: draw, and post, one thing a day, every day, for a year. weekends, holidays, whatever. every day. every. single. day.

now, I know, I know... some of you are thinking "I don't have time to create a super-awesome drawing every single day! I've got a job to go to, or family to look after, or video games to play!"

look, I'm not expecting the mona lisa every single day. I'm not expecting it at all. the idea is just that you draw something new, every day, and put that new thing up online, every day. what should you draw? it doesn't matter! draw whatever you feel like drawing that day! if you feel like drawing something inspiring, do it. if you feel like drawing something bitter, do it. stick figures? fine. one-legged half-parrot puppies? why not? just as long as you draw something new, every day. want to work on another project for a while? something for work, or perhaps just trying to finish the 100 themes project? well, as long as it's new, it still counts.

running low on inspiration? work your way through it. go see a movie, and draw what you thought of it. look out your window and draw what the weather's like. draw what you had for lunch. hell, the first time I did this, well... I think I drew a cartoon lamp once.

the important thing is, just draw something every single day. capture the mood you're in, watch how your art can improve over the course of a year, and have fun.

THE RULES:

1) make something new every day.
2) post that something new online the same day.

that's it. oh, one last thing: if you decide to join me in taking this Project on, please send me a note telling me the date at which you started. that way, I can keep a list of who's trying this, and how many of you actually finish.

look: an artist creates, right? I'm asking you to create something every day for a year, and share it with the rest of us. it doesn't have to be spectacular, it just has to be something. you can take ten minutes a day to make something, right? right. now get creating. here's to the Year of the Doodle.

now if you'll excuse me, it seems I've got a ton of comic-ing to do.
